Three Must Have Low Carb Diet Supplements for Weight Loss Success

Being a low carb eater for over a decade now there's a few things I 've learned to implement ever single day to keep myself thin and healthy for the long haul.

One of those things it supplementation.  You see, it's really easy on a high fat low carb diet (known as HFLC) , to get constipated if you don't get enough fiber and other things in  your diet.

If you're prone to constipation anyway it is doubly hard. High protein in the form of meat can contribute to this significantly as well.

You see constipation can lead to weight gain, and since I keep my colon clean and moving smoothly my stomach is completely flat, despite having 5 children. My low carb diet is a big part of this, but if meat is not being properly digested it builds up in the colon and can add on pounds.

So today I'm going to show you three diet rules and supplements that I use every day to aid against constipation and keep my stomach flat.

Rule # 1: Take Digestive Probiotics Daily:

Probiotics are the good bacteria in your colon that must be present to help the body digest any foods we eat.

There are good bacteria and there are bad. Bad bacteria that can take over the colon, such as candida, eat and thrive from simple sugar and carbs. these bad bacteria cause all sorts of problems such as yeast infections, excessive gas, bloating, and bowel movement changes such as constipation.

The good bacteria, called probiotics, which consist of strains such as acidophilus and yogurt strains,  thrive on complex carbohydrates.

It's a delicate balance in your colon between the good and bad bacteria and that balance can be maintained in two ways. First by the carbs we eat. The more simple carbs we eat the more the bad bacteria such as candida is fed, thrives and takes over the colon.

If we eat more complex carbs, which are too complex for candida to digest, the good bacteria strains are fed, thrive and take over the colon.

The second way is to be proactive in replenishing the good bacteria in our colon by taking probiotic supplementation.

I personally take my probiotics in my daily green drink shake. I use a product called Perfect Food Powder, by Garden of Life. They also have this available in a RAW Organic Powder, Alkalizer and Detoxifier,  and a smaller 140 gram jar as well (which is great for travel).

I love this product for several reasons, first the vegetables and grasses in the drink are predigested or "cultured" (just like yogurt is cultured) by ten different strains of good probiotics. Predigesting any food breaks down the food and makes absorption super fast.

Second the food is then dehydrated at 79 degrees over several days. Digestive enzymes and probiotics die at 82 degrees. So essentially the probiotics and enzymes in the live foods are still alive.

This one product alone had massively aided my constipation and make my stools soft and easy. If I did nothing else to aid my digestion it would be to take this supplement.

In my crazy busy, on the go lifestyle, I  do not always eat the healthy nutritious fresh foods I would like to. This supplement is my way of not only aiding in my digestion and the health of my colon, but is my way of making sure I get my greens daily, regardless of my schedule. It's whole body nutrition.

The product comes in hard capsule form or a powder. I have taken both and can tell you the capsules do not do anything for me, take the powder daily as directed on the bottle and you will see a big difference in your stools.

Rule # 2: If I Eat Meat I Take a Digestive Enzyme:

It is very hard for the body to digest meat. The colon needs the aid of enzymes to digest any food.

Raw foods such as uncooked fruits and vegetables have these necessary enzymes.

But cooked meat does not.

Whenever I eat meat I take Chewable Super Papaya Enzyme Plus, my personal favorite.  I keep a bottle of this in my purse so  I can have it on hand wherever I go.

If the bottle is too big for your purse, dump some out of the bigger bottle into a smaller travel size pill bottle to take with you for on the go.

Rule # 3: Take Fiber Daily:

Fiber is absolutely essential to keep the colon running smoothly. Sometimes it is hard in my busy schedule to ensure I eat enough foods with fiber, so I take a fiber supplement each morning with my green drink.

You can do this in several ways, such as adding a fiber powder to your morning shake, or you can take it in capsule for as I do. My personal favorite, and super cheap option is to take Psyllium Husk Capsules.

Fiber does not have to be expensive, in fact Psyllium is one of the best as well as cheapest fiber supplements available today.

What about you? What supplements do you take daily, what works for you and what doesn't? I would love to hear from you...

Cheers,

Jen
